Meet the Doctors
Dr. Jay Whittle
Dr. Whittle loves all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, but he especially enjoys surgery. He has been doing ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) repairs for years as well as many other surgeries. Dental surgical extractions, medial patellar luxations, splenectomies, intestinal surgery (dogs and cats eat a lot of weird stuff) and urinary bladder surgery are just a few of his favorite procedures, and he enjoys continuing to learn from each case.
Dr. Whittle’s time off is spent with his wife Jane and their three teenagers Olivia, Dolan, and Cecilia. His family has inherited his passion for animals, and they share their home with their two dogs (Atticus Finch and Ricky Ricardo), two cats (Scout and Boo Radley), a bearded dragon (Flames), half a dozen dart frogs and a Pac Man frog, fish, and 2 bee hives.
Dr. Whittle has built a successful practice by treating his patients and their humans with compassion and a well known bedside manner. A constant desire to learn keeps him current with the advances in veterinary medicine. He may be an “old school” vet, but the new school therapies and treatments have their place at Mill Creek too.
Dr. Roeters professional interests include canine rehabilitation, internal medicine and she has a strong interest in someday adding acupuncture to her skills (she will be working on becoming certified as soon as possible). Dr. Roeters has already completed her Fear Free Certification! Dr. Roeters received her B.S. in Biology from Eastern Illinois University and her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She hails from the southwest suburbs of Chicago and enjoys her free time traveling and spending time with family and friends as well as her rescue dog Lemon. I know she will be a wonderful asset to this practice. I know that the patients of Mill Creek will be eager to give her a big lick on the face when they meet her.
Dr. Melissa Conrad
Dr. Conrad is an Orland Park native, and now resides in Bolingbrook with her Labrador…Madison. She graduated from University of Illinois Veterinary school on the Deans List with high honors in 2015. She has been working since then in a high volume practice, honing her skills and gaining invaluable experience. Dr. Conrad enjoys the challenges of medicine and surgery, as well as ultrasound diagnostics. In her free time, she stays active wakeboarding and gardening, then scales back with a good mystery novel. Of course, time with family and friends is important too….we all need time for that! She is completing her Fear Free Certification and will make an excellent addition to our team. Our goal here is to continue to build the highest quality team possible and to offer the best medicine with compassionate care that can be found. Dr. Conrad is part of that goal, and I know our Mill Creek family will welcome her with open arms.
